Recently, the Green Bay Packers divulged that they were considering moving on from their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, while Rodgers himself took some time off to engage in a “darkness retreat” where he would spend a long period of time in sensory depravation.

However, rumors have begun circulating that the Packers may offer Rodgers a path back to the team, with only one stipulation: if he came back, he would need to be a fully-joined and contracted player, not a free agent.

“If he wants to return to Green Bay and as long as he’s fully bought in, the Packers want him back,” NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero said in an interview on The Rich Eisen Show. “They had good conversations after the season.”

“I had with a [conversation with a] very important Green Bay Packers source who, quite honestly, believes that Aaron Rodgers will be back with the Packers and that all of this is being overhyped,” said ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington. “He looks at the contract that Aaron Rodgers signed last year and the commitment that he gave to the team and believes that at the end of the day, Aaron Rodgers will be back with the Packers.”
