On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers took on the LA Clippers, where Lakers small forward and legendary baller LeBron James was in rare form. While the Clippers ultimately won the game 133-115, James didn’t let them have it for free. Over the course of the game, James personally scored a mighty 46 points, a large number of which came in the fourth quarter of the game alone.

“It was scary,” Clippers shooting guard Paul George said. “I’ve seen that look in Bron.”

With this impressive performance, James has set a new NBA record, being the first player to score at least 40 points against every other franchise in the league, 30 teams in total. The feat was so impressive, even the other team wanted him to break the record.

“I wanted Bron to get 40 so he could have 40 against every team,” Clippers coach Ty Lue, who previously coached James in Cleveland, said. “Nah. I mean, he had it going.”

In addition, this latest feat puts James at 178 points away from breaking the NBA’s all-time points record, set by another legendary baller, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. James is excited for the potential, though the fact that the Lakers ultimately lost against the Clippers soured his mood a bit.

“We’ll see when we get there,” James said. “We’ll see what, will it hit me? Just over the last few years, the last couple years since we won a championship, just a lot of accomplishments have been happening in a losing effort.

“So, it’s been very kind of difficult to kind of even digest some or all the accomplishments because I don’t want to celebrate on losses.”
