Terry Silver is conquering the Valley.

Not too long ago, Netflix series Cobra Kai, a sequel series to the classic Karate Kid films, got its fourth season. Apparently, however, the crew got right to work making the fifth season as soon as the fourth ended, because the next installment of the story is right around the corner.

Netflix announced today that the fifth season of Cobra Kai will be releasing on their platform on September 9, 2022. “Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Terry Silver is expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town,” the official description reads. “With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.”

Netflix renewed Cobra Kai for its fifth season back in August of 2021, not long before the fourth season premiered. After season four released, the show’s co-creator, Josh Heald, clarified that there is more story to tell after season five if Netflix is interested.

“We have more beyond Season 5,” Heald told ScreenRant in December 2021. “We are not writing to the end of the series in Season 5 right now… Season 5 is another enormous season with a lot of new flavors and a lot of things that you haven’t seen before yet on the show. And it’s not the end.”
