The event occurred at Westminster Abbey in London, and Perry was among the high-profile guests, including Judi Dench, Emma Thompson, Maggie Smith, and Lionel Richie. The footage of Perry searching for her seat before the start of the ceremony led to her name trending on Twitter.

Perry took to social media to share her response, proving to be a good sport about the attention she received. She tweeted later that day, “Don’t worry guys, I found my seat,” and thanked Vivienne Westwood for making her “feel so lovely in lavender.” Perry and Richie were set to perform at a coronation concert the following day.
