Ronaldo dismissed the club as a “marketing club.”

Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the most popular and legendary soccer players in the world, has been on the warpath this week. The center of his ire is prominent soccer club Manchester United, and Ronaldo made his beef with them abundantly clear in an interview with TalkTV.

“Manchester is a marketing club,” Ronaldo said, adding that its owners “don’t care about the club.”

“They will get money from the marketing – the sport, it’s… they don’t really care, in my opinion.”

Ronaldo said that his problem with the Glazer family, who owns Manchester United, is that they have been under-investing in the club’s training facilities. “The fans, they’re always right. I think the fans should know the truth, should know that the players want the best for the club,” Ronaldo added.

“I want the best for the club. This is why I came to Manchester United. This is why I love this club.”

While he was dropping burns, Ronaldo also unloaded on two of his former teammates, Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville. Ronaldo believes that Rooney, who has been publicly critical of him recently, is jealous of Ronaldo getting to play the sport at its highest level.

“It’s hard to listen to that kind of criticism and negativity about people who played with you,” Ronaldo said.

“It’s easy to criticize. I don’t know if they have a job in television that they must criticize to be more famous, I really don’t understand.

“I think they take advantage of [my name] because they are not stupid.”
