A Wholesome Love Story with Ads

When French salesman Dagobert Renouf realized he couldn’t afford his own wedding, he decided to turn creativity into currency. Just months after being “completely broke” and on the edge of homelessness, Renouf found an unconventional way to fund his big day: by selling ad space on his tuxedo.

Renouf first shared his idea in mid-July on social media, asking if tech companies would sponsor his wedding in exchange for logo placements on his suit. What began as a joke quickly went viral, capturing global attention and turning his “experiment” into a business success story. “Someone from my community offered €500 if I placed his logo on my suit,” Renouf said. “Then others wanted in. Within days, it became real.”

Encouraged by the response, Renouf launched a website offering branded placements on the exterior and interior of his wedding jacket. Prices ranged from $300 to $2,000, depending on logo size and visibility, while smaller startups could pay $100 for a placement inside the lining. His fiancée, Anna Plynina, supported the idea after he promised to work exclusively with independent companies that shared their values.

Over the following months, Renouf kept his 116,000 social followers updated on the project, from AI-generated suit mockups to sponsorship updates. By the time the wedding arrived, 26 companies had signed on, including Comp AI, Dropkick Copy, ScreenshotOne, React Video Editor, Prompt Watch, FeatherFlow, Vidext, and Superblog, among others.

The suit itself was designed by Lamine Sow, who turned a dark green tuxedo into a creative patchwork of logos. Renouf wore the finished piece during the ceremony, ensuring that sponsors were featured in photos and videos shared across social platforms.

“What started as desperation became something joyful,” Renouf said. “We found a way to celebrate love, community, and creativity all at once.”

The story of his “sponsored wedding” continues to inspire thousands online, serving as a reminder that innovation often starts with a bold idea—and a little faith in people’s generosity.
