You don’t mess with peoples’ Charlie Brown.

If you’ll recall, toward the end of October, it was announced that Apple had obtained exclusive streaming rights to all of the Charlie Brown holiday specials, including It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Apparently, though, people get really cheesed off when you try to get exclusivity for their childhood holiday favorites. Peanuts fans both with and without Apple TV+ chastised Apple for trying to keep a staple of the holidays from people. Apple tried to make peace by offering the specials for free during select periods, but as not everyone has access to streaming services, that simply wasn’t enough. As such, Apple has decided to bite the bullet and make a TV broadcasting deal.

PBS announced today that they had cut a deal with Apple to show A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas on public access for the holiday season (we’ve sadly missed the boat on em>It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown). Both specials will be aired once in their respective months 100% ad free. If you wanna watch it again, you’ll need Apple TV+, though the free periods Apple offered before will still be available.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will air on PBS on Sunday, November 22 at 7:30 PM/6:30 central. A Charlie Brown Christmas will air on December 13, presumably in a similar timeslot. If you don’t have access to streaming services, then don’t worry, you’ll still get your proper dose of Peanuts this year.
