The college baller is ready to go pro.

It’s always uplifting to see a young athlete putting in the work and moving up to the big leagues. The Clemson Tigers’ own Trevor Lawrence is one such young athlete, who’s been entrenched in the game of football since he was in high school. He’s had a pretty incredible college ball career, picking up 10,098 yards passing with 90 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. With the end of the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day, which Clemson sadly couldn’t quite clench, Lawrence has decided its time to take the next big step.

In an emotional post to his personal Twitter today, Lawrence announced that he would be ending his career with Clemson and submitting himself for the 2021 NFL Draft.

“I really feel like I’m a man now and I’m ready to take on those challenges,” Lawrence said in the announcement. “Super excited for life ahead. I’m grateful for Clemson and I’m going to miss it.”

“Looking back on it, I hope my legacy at Clemson is that I was a great teammate and a great person overall. Just more than football, more than how I played each game, just how I treated people,” Lawrence said in his announcement.

“I want that to be the main thing I’m known for and I feel like for over the last three years that’s the thing I kept as a priority, just treating people well and being a good person. So I hope that’s my legacy when I leave here.”

Lawrence probably won’t have to worry about leaving a bad legacy, as he’s frequently pegged as the deciding factor that clinched the Tigers’ victory over Alabama in 2018 to secure the national title. Whatever team Lawrence ends up on, he’s sure to make a fantastic addition, both to them and to the sport overall.
