Travis Kelce Speaks Out on Viral U.S. Open Partying with Taylor Swift

NFL star Travis Kelce is setting the record straight about those viral U.S. Open moments with girlfriend Taylor Swift. And it turns out, it wasn’t merely about having fun.
In a recent chat with GQ, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce looked back on the September 2024 outing that had fans talking. “When you see me hanging out at the U.S. Open with Taylor, it may look like we’re partying,” Travis Kelce said. “But really, I was just enjoying a cool event I’d always wanted to attend, and I got to do it with the person I love.”
The couple grabbed the attention of everyone at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. They were both dressed in the same red and white clothes. They sang along to the music there, laughed a lot, and had zero shyness about showing a little PDA. Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes and his spouse, Brittany, were also there with the couple.
Kelce openly admitted that he’s now ‘more strategic’ about his appearance in public. He used to be a “party guy,” openly shouting “Fight for Your Right to Party!” and “Viva Las Vegas.” But now, he has slowly stepped away from that image.
“I’m starting to phase out of wanting to be known as the party guy,” he said.
Travis Kelce said that this change is partly due to Taylor Swift. He even said that Swift’s kindness, work ethic, and genuine personality remind him of his mother, Donna Kelce.

Fans love to see Kelce and Swift together. On August 13, Swift will appear on Travis and Jason Kelce’s ‘New Heights’ podcast. In the podcast, she will disclose the cover of her upcoming album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl.’
