‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Wraps Filming
More thunder god shenanigans are right around the corner.
Thor is definitely an Avenger that got better with age. In his first appearance, he was bit stuck up and spoke in somewhat flowery language befitting his position of Asgardian royalty. In subsequent films, though, he’s become much more jolly and laid-back, cracking jokes and smiling all while still doling out the lightning bolts with the best of them. The success of Thor: Ragnarok showed that the campier Thor is much more entertaining than the serious one, and it looks like that’s the Thor we’ll be getting in his next appearance.
The next Thor-centric film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor: Love and Thunder, has officially wrapped filming. Details about the film’s story still haven’t been made available; all we really know is that it will resemble a plotline from the last decade of Marvel comics wherein Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman) inherits the mantle and powers of Thor. If nothing else, the cast seem like they definitely had a blast putting it together.
“That’s a wrap on Thor Love and Thunder, it’s also national don’t flex day so I thought this super relaxed photo was appropriate,” Chris Hemsworth wrote on Instagram. “The film is gonna be batsh– crazy off the wall funny and might also pull a heart string or two. Lots of love, lots of thunder! Thank you to all the cast and crew who made this another incredible Marvel journey. Buckle in, get ready and see ya in cinemas!”

“Sometimes two people come together to inspire the world and change the cinematic landscape forever,” Taika Waititi, who plays the good-natured rock alien Korg, wrote on his own Instagram. “And then there’s me and [Chris Hemsworth] who are too cool to care about anything except making movies that bring people absolute joy. Ok I don’t look cool I know that. This film is the craziest thing I’ve ever done and I’m honoured to bust my ass and have a nervous breakdown so you can all see it in May 2022.”
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
