Taco Bell Rumored to be Dumping Popular Menu Items
People are fiercely protective of their favorite fast foods.
Everyone has that one thing on any fast food menu that they can always fall back on. The new item stinks? Get the fallback. The ice cream machine is broken again? Get the fallback. This is why, when fast food menus undergo big shake-ups, people get antsy. If a new rumor about Taco Bell is true, there’s about to be a lot of antsiness.
Rumors have been circulating on social media that Taco Bell is planning on dumping several of their longtime items. This includes things like all potato items, the Beefy Frito Burrito, the Triple Layer Nachos, the Nachos Supreme, and (gasp) the Quesarito. The leak came from a supposed Taco Bell insider posting on the Taco Bell subreddit. The user, DerbyTower197207, claims that big menu changes are coming starting on August 13.
When Taco Bell was questioned about the rumors by Fox News, a spokesperson said “We are in the process of evolving our menu to simplify operations and make our team member and customer experiences easier. We’ll have more to share with you soon.” Not a confirmation, but also not a dismissal.

Twitter users have been expressing their frustration and disappointment with the chain for removing so many beloved items.
“First they came for the power burrito and I said nothing, for I did not order the power burrito,” one Twitter user joked. “Now they’ve come for the quesarito, and there is no one left to speak for me.”
Another user added “We’ve suffered enough this year. Please don’t get rid of the quesarito.”
