Now that’s what I call a show of force.

The current defending champs of Super Bowl 2020, the Kansas City Chiefs, have a game scheduled tonight against the Houston Texans on their home turf of Arrowhead Stadium. On its own, that’s not really news, but in an effort to zhuzh things up a bit, the game will be visited by a special guest: the US Air Force.

Right before tonight’s game, Arrowhead Stadium is set to be buzzed by a B-2 stealth bomber jet launching from the nearby Whiteman Air Force Base. The plane will be piloted by members of the 509th and 131st Bomb Wings, with ground crew pilots on station at Arrowhead Stadium to ensure everything runs smoothly.

“Continuing a long-standing tradition between Team Whiteman and our community partners, the Kansas City Chiefs organization, the B-2 Spirit will open the game with a demonstration of precision air power,” a Whiteman Air Force Base spokesman told KMBC-TV.

Tonight’s game is the first game of the Chiefs’ season, and while Arrowhead Stadium will be open to the public, it will be at only 22% capacity, approximately 16,000 of the stadium’s 76,416 seats. The lucky few who actually managed to get tickets to the game are encouraged to either be in their seats or near the stadium if they want to see the B-2 jet overhead. Hopefully, the Chiefs can put on a good show to follow-up on such an impressive opening act, especially since the Texans are out for blood after being eliminated from last season’s playoffs by the Chiefs.

Kickoff for tonight’s game is scheduled for 8:25 PM Eastern time. The bomber is scheduled to appear a few minutes prior at around 8:23 PM.
