New ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Content to be Livestreamed in June
Takes more than a pandemic to keep a hero down.
Since its big presentation at last year’s E3, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ take on the Avengers, aptly titled Marvel’s Avengers, has gone mostly radio silent. We have a general idea of the game’s story and cast, and we got a lengthy gameplay video from the start of the story featuring the Avengers taking on Taskmaster. Also, there won’t be paid character DLC, which is nice. But aside from these few tidbits, concrete information about the game is still somewhat sparse, which grows concerning as its September release date looms. Many fans have been worried that something’s gone sideways at Crystal Dynamics, especially with the pandemic going on. Thankfully, Crystal Dynamics announced today that not only have things not gone sideways, but they’ve got a whole smorgasbord of info for us in the near future.
We’ve reassembled at home and are working to finish our mission. We can’t wait to show you new gameplay and co-op in our first Marvel's Avengers WAR TABLE stream on June 24! #Reassemble pic.twitter.com/fi4DxuYwZk

On the official Marvel’s Avengers Twitter, it was announced that a special “War Table” livestream event will be held for the game on June 24. This event will showcase more in-depth info on the game’s story, how the different characters play, and the introduction of the game’s co-op functionality. Additionally, the announcement assured that all members of the development team are alive and well, and have successfully begun working from home. If the game’s release date has been affected at all by the pandemic, they haven’t said so.
Marvel’s Avengers will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia on September 4. At least, I think it’ll launch on Google Stadia. Does anyone still care about that thing?
