Jackson has been absent from 16 consecutive practices.

Last month, Lamar Jackson, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, suffered an injury to his knee that resulted in him being indefinitely benched. Since suffering that injury, Jackson has missed 16 consecutive practices, and it isn’t clear whether he’ll be in fighting shape in time for Sunday’s Wild Card against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Ravens have made a point of not making concrete statements on Jackson’s current status, with Ravens coach John Harbaugh declining to comment on the matter in interviews. “I don’t have anything to add on that. No updates at this time,” he said after Wednesday’s practice.

To complicate matters further, backup Tyler Huntley is also out of action due to tendinitis in his shoulder, preventing him from making long throws. Still, Harbaugh has hopes that Huntley will be good to play on Sunday. “He’s doing a lot better,” Harbaugh said. “He was out there in practice today and took a bunch of plays. I’d say he’s on schedule, hopefully, and we’ll see where it goes.”

With both their QB and their backup in an uncertain state, the odds are decisively against the Ravens for Sunday’s game. Even so, the other members of the team are resolved to do whatever they can to win. “I don’t know if everybody’s going to believe in us outside the locker room, but we’re for dang sure going to believe in ourselves here,” Ravens defensive end Calais Campbell said. “We’re going to give it our best shot.”
