Cramer is only experiencing mild symptoms thanks to his vaccination.

Prolific investor and host of CNBC’s Mad Money, Jim Cramer, announced today that both he and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19 and have begun isolating at home.

“I have COVID. I came down with COVID on Thursday night,” Cramer said on CNBC‘s “Squawk Box.” “I know exactly how I got it, I was at an event where you had to have PCR [tests].”

“I got it that night from someone who was tested that day,” he said. “The problem is it works so fast. You can’t stop it.

Cramer is fully vaccinated with two shots of the Moderna vaccine, plus a Moderna booster shot. According to him, it is thanks to these shots that he is only experiencing mild symptoms. His wife, who was vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and a Moderna booster, is experiencing slightly more severe symptoms.

“If you’d like to lessen the chance of getting very sick, I think you should get vaccinated,” Cramer said. “There’s never a cold I’ve had that was as weak as this. Ever.”

“I feel terrible those who’ve been sick; of course for the families of people who’ve lost someone,” Cramer went on to say. “But I do have, I believe, omicron. And because I’ve been fortunate enough to be vaccinated, it has not really impacted me.”

On the subject of his specialty, the stock market, Cramer said that despite the concerning climate brought about by the Omicron variant, he believes the market should be in better standing than it is.

“The gloom is so palpable that you might want to take the other side of that trade,” he said. “There are people who are panicking. I don’t like to sell panic. I like to buy panic.”
