“Will it be the best look ever? Nope. Will it do the trick? Yep,” says Gary Striewski.
ESPN’s SportsCenter anchors Gary Striewski and Randy Scott gave fans an unexpected laugh when a TikTok of them doing their own makeup went viral. The funny moment happened on September 6 after their usual glam team couldn’t make it due to a scheduling conflict.
Instead of stressing out, the two anchors grabbed the brushes and powders themselves and turned the whole thing into comedy gold. In the video, Striewski tells viewers, “You’re going to watch me and Randy do our own makeup,” before the pair fumble their way through foundation and powder. At one point they chant, “Forehead, T-zone,” as if they were calling a play on the field.
@thekimchipapi Did a prettttttttyyyyyyy good job if we’re keeping it crispy @Randy Scott #dudes #makeup #MACtion
Fans loved it, and Striewski leaned right into the joke. He compared his makeup skills to cooking, saying, “I know how to fry an egg, but it’s not going to be the best egg you’ve ever had. Same thing with makeup.”
The internet couldn’t get enough of the behind-the-scenes moment, and the duo has already earned the nickname “#CoverBoys.” Striewski even hinted they might keep doing these little DIY glam sessions for fans once a week.
Of course, he gave credit to ESPN’s real glam squad, saying the whole thing just gave them a chance to have some fun. As for his co-host, Striewski joked that Scott has an edge because his young daughter is just starting to experiment with makeup and gives him tips.
Whether it’s breaking down sports highlights or cracking jokes with a makeup brush in hand, these anchors proved one thing: they know how to entertain on and off the screen.
