Philadelphia’s Defense Holds Strong in a Classic NFC Showdown

It wasn’t pretty, but it was unforgettable. On a freezing night at Lambeau Field, the Philadelphia Eagles fought their way to a tough 10–7 win over the Green Bay Packers on November 10, 2025, in a defensive battle that felt like playoff football in November.

The game was defined by cold weather, relentless defense, and old-school grit. With temperatures dropping into the low 20s, both offenses struggled to find rhythm. It took more than two quarters before anyone managed to score, making it the first scoreless first half on Monday Night Football since 2009.

A First Half Standoff

The first two quarters were a defensive clinic. Jalen Hurts completed 15 of 26 passes for 183 yards but was under constant pressure from Green Bay’s front line. The Packers weren’t much better. Jordan Love threw for 158 yards with one interception, failing to capitalize on four drives that crossed midfield. Every inch felt earned, and every mistake mattered.

Finally, Some Points

Philadelphia broke the deadlock midway through the third quarter with a 39-yard field goal from Jake Elliott, giving them a narrow 3–0 lead after a drive stalled deep in Green Bay territory.

The Decisive Fourth Quarter

Momentum finally shifted early in the fourth. The Eagles struck fast—Saquon Barkley turned a short pass into a dazzling 41-yard catch-and-run, followed by DeVonta Smith’s spectacular 36-yard touchdown grab, leaping over safety Evan Williams to make it 10–0.

The Packers responded with a determined 11-play, 75-yard drive, capped by Josh Jacobs’ 6-yard touchdown run, closing the gap to 10–7 with just under six minutes remaining. The final minutes turned chaotic: Philadelphia’s defense stopped Jacobs on 4th-and-1 near midfield, but a risky 4th-and-6 call from coach Nick Sirianni gave the Packers one last chance.

With no timeouts left, Green Bay moved 34 yards in 27 seconds, setting up a desperate 64-yard field goal attempt by Brandon McManus. The kick had the distance but curved wide left as time expired.

A Statement Win for the Eagles

The victory marked Philadelphia’s third straight win, improving them to 7–2 on the season. Their defense shined again, holding Green Bay to a season-low seven points. For the Packers, now 5–3–1, the loss stung but showed the same grit that has kept them competitive all season.
