Warriors bolster roster with veteran big man Dario Saric on one-year deal

The Golden State Warriors are making moves ahead of the upcoming 2023-24 regular season with the addition of veteran big man Dario Saric. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Saric has signed a one-year deal with the team. This acquisition provides the Warriors with frontcourt depth and adds a new shooting threat to their roster.

Saric sat out the entire 2021-2022 season due to a torn ACL. Since his recovery, he has contributed significantly as a valuable support player, making appearances for both the Phoenix Suns and the Oklahoma City Warriors. Despite limited minutes, Saric showcased his shooting prowess by shooting 39% from beyond the arc last year and an impressive 51.5% from the field overall. His ability to stretch the floor will offer Head Coach Steve Kerr another option when constructing lineups prioritizing spacing and offensive firepower.

The Warriors’ newly appointed General Manager, Mike Dunleavy Jr., has been busy this summer. Instead of making major changes to the team’s core players, the focus has been on making strategic adjustments on the periphery of the roster. The additions of seasoned veterans like Saric and Chris Paul serve as a prudent approach to bolster the Warriors’ chances of making another deep postseason run.

With Saric in the mix, the Warriors are building a well-rounded team combining experience, talent, and shooting ability. The frontcourt depth provided by Saric will complement the team’s existing core and enhance their ability to compete at a high level. As the regular season approaches, the Warriors are positioning themselves as formidable contenders, ready to make their mark in the highly competitive NBA landscape.
