How the Dodgers Made History While the Yankees Plot Their Comeback
The Los Angeles Dodgers made history with a thrilling 5–4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7 of the World Series on November 1, 2025. The victory sealed their second straight championship, the first back-to-back title in baseball since 2000.
Downtown Los Angeles overflowed with blue as thousands of fans filled the streets for the November 3 victory parade. The team rode through cheering crowds before a rally at Dodger Stadium, where manager Dave Roberts called it “a win built on belief.” Players waved to fans, confetti filled the air, and the city celebrated as one.
Game 7 in Toronto was a battle from start to finish. Shohei Ohtani gave up three runs early, but the bullpen held firm. Freddie Freeman’s clutch double tied the game in the ninth, and in the 11th inning, Mookie Betts drove in the winning run. A diving catch from James Outman sealed the win, sending the Dodgers into baseball history once again.
In New York, the Yankees are already shifting focus to free agency, targeting Kyle Tucker and Bo Bichette after a tough postseason. General Manager Brian Cashman said, “Watching another team lift the trophy hurts, but it fuels us.”
For Los Angeles, this championship feels like the start of something bigger. With depth, chemistry, and confidence, the Dodgers have become the standard for modern baseball.
