Well, digital comic books have been a thing for a while now…

San Diego Comic Con, one of the biggest pop culture events of the year, was officially cancelled back in April, for the very first time, in fact. The event was scheduled for some time in the summer, but since the cancellation, congoers have been assured that the event will be held properly in July of 2021. What are all the enthusiasts and cosplayers supposed to do until then, though? A potential indicator of the con’s content comes from WonderCon’s WonderCon @ Home experience. After WonderCon Anaheim 2020 was postponed, the event organizers began hosting weekly virtual panels on their social media, including a chat panel featuring multiple Power Rangers actors and a manga discussion panel hosted by Kodansha USA. Many cancelled convention events around the world have also been hosting virtual cosplay showcases, wherein cosplayers who would normally showcase their work in person at a convention instead take pictures at home and share them online.
