The President said he’s doing fine with no obvious symptoms.

Over the weekend, following several days of negative tests after a brief brush with COVID-19, United States President Joe Biden announced that he had once again tested positive for the disease.

“Folks, today I tested positive for COVID again. This happens with a small minority of folks,” Biden wrote on his Twitter. “I’ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me. I’m still at work, and will be back on the road soon.”

According to White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden is not exhibiting any obvious symptoms of COVID-19 and appears to be in generally good health and spirits, but will remain isolated once again in the interest of White House staff safety.

“The President has experienced no reemergence of symptoms, and continues to feel quite well,” O’Connor wrote in a memo “This being the case, there is no reason to reinitiate treatment at this time, but we will obviously continue close observation.”

“However, given his positive antigen test, he will reinitiate strict isolation procedures. As I’ve stated previously, the President continues to be very specifically conscientious to protect any of the Executive Residence, White House, Secret Service and other staff whose duties require any (albeit socially distanced) proximity to him,” O’Connor wrote.

Biden is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with two additional Pfizer booster shots. However, as he is 79 years old and has some preexisting medical history, his odds of contracting the coronavirus for extended periods are likely higher than those of the average American.
