Stephenie Meyer Has A Countdown On Her Website, But No One Knows What it’s for
Stephanie Meyer is up to something
The author of the mega-selling “Twilight” series has pulled quite the PR stunt. A countdown is currently running on the author’s website, but there is no explanation as to why. The countdown is to 8:30 A.M. Eastern on May 4, and there are all sorts of speculation as to what the announcement might be.
One popular theory that is sure to ignite our teenage fires is that the countdown is for the long-awaited arrival of “Midnight Sun,” a companion novel to “Twilight” but from Edward’s perspective. However, Meyer shelved this idea years ago after an early draft of the book leaked in 2008, leading the author to just post the draft on her website, much to the disappointment of many fans.

Meyer attempted to work on the novel again, but after “Grey, a Fifty Shades of Grey” novel told from Christian’s perspective, was announced, the “Twilight” author once again, shelved “Midnight Sun.”
Another theory going around, which is taking into consideration the background of the countdown—the Milky Way and a star-filled night sky—is that Meyer will announce a sequel to her 2008 sci-fi novel “The Host.”
All links found at the bottom of the website take viewers to Fickle Fish Films’ social media, a production company founded by Meyer. Fickle Fish Films produced “The Host” and “Austenland” movies.
Without a doubt, Meyer has a huge announcement coming on May 4, but the only thing fans can do in the meantime is wait.
