The State Dinner, hosted by President Donald Trump in honor of King Charles and Queen Camilla, was already brimming with global influence, tech titans, political heavyweights, and media personalities. Yet midway through a formal address, Trump veered off course—quite literally—to single out the Northern Irish golfer in front of the elite crowd.
“Where’s Rory McIlroy?” the president interjected, abandoning prepared remarks. “Stand up, Rory. That was unconquerable courage.”

Despite his accomplishments, he was overlooked in last year’s New Year Honours list—an omission that continues to spark debate, especially in light of his continued dominance.
