There are always more multiversal shenanigans to be had.

I’m admittedly no expert on how studios and networks go about deciding on air schedules for their shows, but I would assume there’s at least some manner of consistency to it all. Most shows, upon receiving a green light for another season, either continue right into it or offer a specified future date for it to get started. Rick and Morty is not one of those shows. I don’t know how or why, but the mad lads behind that show always seem to be flying by the seat of their pants. One moment, we’re all in limbo, wondering if there’ll even be another season, and the next, we have a set date.

Adult Swim announced today that Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s time and space-defying animated comedy will be returning to TV for its fifth season starting Sunday, June 20 at 11:00 PM eastern time.
