Christmas Day just turned unforgettable for NBA fans thanks to Nikola Jokic. The Denver Nuggets star put on an absolute show, scoring 56 points in a game people will talk about for years. Jokic didn’t just score. He made history.

He ended the game with 56 points, 16 rebounds, and 15 assists. That makes him the first player ever to hit at least 55 points while also grabbing 15 rebounds and giving 15 assists in a single game. His 56 points are now the third-highest ever scored on Christmas Day, only behind Bernard King’s 60 in 1984 and Wilt Chamberlain’s 59 in 1961.

The game itself was crazy. Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards hit an amazing three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. The Timberwolves came out strong, going on a 9–0 run in the extra period. But then Jokic took over. He scored 18 points in overtime alone, breaking the NBA record. He shot perfectly from the field in OT and made 10 out of 11 free throws to drag Denver back and lock in the win.

Jamal Murray also shined with 35 points and 10 assists. Edwards wasn’t easy to beat either, scoring 44 points and almost carrying Minnesota on his own. But in overtime, Edwards got ejected after two technical fouls, leaving Jokic to finish the game at the free-throw line.

What makes this night even crazier is how efficient Jokic was. He shot 15-of-21 from the field and 22-of-23 from the free-throw line. That is 90.3% true shooting, which is insanely good.

With this win, Denver moves to 22–8 and stays solid in the Western Conference. They were missing three starters, but Jokic showed why having him on the court makes them a tough team to beat.

Nikola Jokic’s performance wasn’t just a win. It was a masterpiece. Fans will remember this Christmas game for a very long time.
