From Pearl Malfunction to Pearl-fection: How North West Saved Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala Dress

Kim Kardashian’s pearl-clad appearance at the 2023 Met Gala made jaws drop, but not just for her stunning gown. The SKIMS founder had a wardrobe malfunction, with the bottom half of her dress breaking apart and pearls spilling all over the ground. But Kim being Kim, handled it like a pro and even spilled the tea on her “slightly problematic” outfit.

Her pearls were already loosening and falling off before the event, but luckily, her mini-me North West came to the rescue. “Some popped on the way, and I told my daughter to grab them all,” spilled Kim to Vogue. And would you believe it, she put them in her purse! Real pearls, people!

Even though North was too young to join the glam squad on the red carpet, she still made a statement with her edgy outfit. The pint-sized fashionista rocked a white jacket and top with distressed jeans and black boots, proving that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Despite criticism, Republican leadership billed the measure as a $160 million investment in child care access, maternal health care, and paid parental leave for teachers and state employees. The funding would also go to nonprofit community health centers to provide contraceptives to underserved, uninsured, or medically indigent patients.
