“The video of Nick Offerman pranking me on our flight to Indy has surfaced. So great. I love that man,” said Jim O’Heir.
After working together in seven seasons of “Parks and Recreation,” Nick Offerman and Jim O’Heir had a surprise union in the sky.
Jim O’Heir, who portrayed the clumsy but kind of sweet Jerry Gergich on the NBC show, posted on Instagram that he had no idea that Nick was on the same flight until he pranked him.
“I didn’t know that until we were about to land and [Offerman] got on the speaker and started talking about Jerry, Gary, Larry, and Terry Gergich,” O’Heir wrote on Instagram. “The flight attendants were also in on it. It was awesome.”
Offerman, famous for playing the straight-faced Ron Swanson, kept the bit going by reading the usual flight message before slipping in one of his classic lines. “As I always say, don’t half-ass your safety, only whole-ass,” he said, making everyone laugh.

O’Heir finally realized what was going on when Offerman mentioned him by name. “If your last name is Gergich, first name Jerry, Larry, Barry, or Gary, please behave yourself and travel safely,” Offerman said over the speaker. O’Heir couldn’t stop laughing.
He later shared the video online, writing, “The video of @nickofferman pranking me on our flight to Indy has surfaced. So great. I love that man.”
Fans loved the prank and they filled the comments with love. They said that this prank felt like a scene from “Parks and Rec.” Their funny reunion shows that even years after the show ended, their friendship and humor are still going strong.
