The highly anticipated movie “Lift,” starring US comedian Kevin Hart, has been released on Netflix. The film, largely filmed in Northern Ireland, showcases the captivating landscapes and rich cultural heritage of the region.

During his stay in Northern Ireland, Kevin Hart was based at the Culloden Hotel just outside Belfast, where he spent several months. He delighted audiences with surprise performances at venues like the Limelight and Lavery’s, adding an exciting element to his time in the city.

“Lift” marks the second Netflix film to be shot in Northern Ireland, following the success of “The School for Good and Evil” in 2021. The movie was filmed in Harbour Studios and various locations across Northern Ireland, with support from Northern Ireland Screen, showcasing the diverse and picturesque settings of the region.

Directed by F Gary Gray, “Lift” follows an international heist crew, led by Kevin Hart’s character Cyrus Whitaker, as they attempt to steal $500 million (£393 million) in gold from a passenger plane before it falls into the wrong hands.
