A Cute Moment at the NFL Field
Washington Commanders fans had more than one reason to celebrate Sunday night as star safety Jeremy Reaves capped off a thrilling playoff-clinching victory with a heartwarming proposal on the field.
Moments after the Commanders defeated the Atlanta Falcons 30-24 in an intense overtime battle, Reaves brought the excitement to a new level by proposing to his girlfriend, Mikaela Worley, in front of a jubilant crowd. The emotional moment added a touch of romance to an already historic night for the team.

Mikaela, a Physician Assistant from Florida and a devoted supporter of Reaves both on and off the field, was visibly stunned as Reaves dropped to one knee. Overcome with emotion, she joined him on the field and said yes, drawing cheers from fans and teammates alike.
“Of course, she said yes! The playoffs and a proposal—what a night,” remarked NBC commentator Mike Tirico during the broadcast.
The couple shared hugs, tears, and laughter as teammates congratulated them. Mikaela proudly showed off her sparkling engagement ring while embracing members of the Commanders’ roster, including punter Tress Way, before making her way down the tunnel.
Reaves and Mikaela have been dating for roughly 18 months, with their relationship becoming public in the summer of 2023. Despite her busy schedule, Mikaela has been a fixture at Reaves’ games, traveling across the country to support him.

This moment of joy follows Reaves’ impressive rise in the NFL. After going undrafted in 2018 and joining the Commanders in 2019, the 28-year-old has become a key defensive player, earning All-Pro honors and a Pro Bowl nod in 2022. Reaves has logged 126 tackles across 60 career games, and now, he can add a playoff berth and a proposal to his growing list of achievements.

The Commanders’ thrilling win over the Falcons wasn’t just a milestone for Reaves but also for the franchise. Led by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, Washington clawed its way back from a second-half deficit to secure its first postseason spot since 2020. Daniels set an NFL rookie record for rushing yards by a quarterback, surpassing Robert Griffin III, and delivered three passing touchdowns in the game.
With their playoff ticket punched, the Commanders could climb to the No. 6 seed in the NFC depending on results in Week 18. For now, though, the team and its fans are savoring the sweet taste of victory—and a memorable proposal that’s sure to go down in Commanders history.
