India Takes on Another Victory!

India showcased their T20 World Cup title aspirations with an emphatic 47-run victory over Afghanistan in the Super 8s clash held in Barbados.

India posted a formidable total of 181-8 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to a scintillating 53 off 28 balls from Suryakumar Yadav. Despite the early dismissal of key top-order batsmen, Yadav’s innings provided the backbone for India’s score. Afghanistan’s bowling attack was spearheaded by their captain Rashid Khan, who took 3-26, and Fazalhaq Farooqi, who also claimed three wickets for 33 runs. However, a costly end to the innings left their batters with a daunting target.

Afghanistan’s chase got off to a rocky start, quickly collapsing to 23-3. India’s pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah, delivered a masterful performance, removing both Afghan openers and ending with remarkable figures of 3-7. The relentless pressure applied by the Indian bowlers ensured Afghanistan could not keep up with the required run rate, culminating in their dismissal for 134 on the final ball of their innings. Arshdeep Singh contributed significantly to the bowling effort with 3-36.
