The band will hold two shows to honor their departed drummer.

Back in March, Foo Fighters was slated to take the stage at the Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogotá, Colombia. However, only hours away from their scheduled performance, it was announced that the band’s longtime drummer, Taylor Hawkins, had suddenly died, prompting the band to cancel their appearance and all appearances for the immediate future.

Now that the band has had some time to grieve, they’ve announced that they will be putting on a pair of tribute shows to honor their departed bandmate. “For our dear friend, our bada** bandmate, our beloved brother… Foo Fighters and The Hawkins family bring you the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts,” the band announced on their official Instagram.

The shows will feature the remaining members of Foo Fighters, including Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee, in two performances in London and Los Angeles. The first show will be held at London’s Wembley Stadium on September 3, while the second show will be held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on September 27.

The band has received the full blessing of Hawkins’s family to put on the show. On Hawkins’s Instagram account, his wife, Alison Hawkins, sent out a message thanking fans for their love and support.

“My deepest thanks and admiration go out to the global Foo Fighters community and Taylor’s fans far and wide for the outpouring of love each and every one of you have shown our beloved Taylor. Your kindness has been an invaluable comfort for my family and me during this time of unimaginable grief,” the message read.
