The country star is halfway to immunization.

Any news about more people getting vaccines is good news, and it’s even better news when the people in question are beloved celebrities. Don’t lie, you want them to be safe too. The latest celebrity to receive a shot is beloved 75-year-old country singer/songwriter Dolly Parton, who took a video of her first shot of the Moderna vaccine on Tuesday and posted it to Twitter.

“I’ve been waiting a while,” Parton said. “I’m old enough to get it and I’m smart enough to get it.”

Interestingly, Parton actually has a relationship with this particular vaccine thanks to her personal friendship with Dr. Naji Abumrad of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The two have been good friends since Dr. Abumrad treated Parton in 2013 after a car accident, and when they were talking about vaccine research last April, Parton got an idea. She personally donated $1 million to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and part of that money went to directly fund Moderna’s efforts to develop and circulate their shots.

Parton previously said that she didn’t want to get the vaccine herself until more people could get theirs, as she didn’t want her donation to garner her any special treatment. “When I get it, I’ll probably do it on camera so people will know and I’ll tell them the truth, if I have symptoms and all that,” she said at the time. “Hopefully it’ll encourage people. I’m not going to jump the line just because I could.”

After her shot, Parton affirmed her belief that the fastest way the world can return to normalcy is if everyone gets vaccinated as soon as they can. “So I just wanted to say to all you cowards out there, don’t be such a chicken squat,” she said. “Get out there and get your shot.”
