The Texans QB has been accused by three women.
In a message from the NFL to the Houston Texans, it was announced that the team’s quarterback, Deshaun Watson, is under formal investigation by the league for reports of sexual misconduct.
“The NFL informed us today that they will conduct an investigation into the allegations made in the civil lawsuits filed against Deshaun Watson. We will stay in close contact with the league as they do,” a Houston Texans spokesperson said in an email.
“We continue to take this and all matters involving anyone within the Houston Texans organization seriously. We do not anticipate making any additional statements until the NFL’s investigation concludes.”
Three plaintiffs, all of whom have remained anonymous, work as massage therapists in Houston. All three of these women are independent contractors who were contacted by Watson through Instagram. According to their testimonies, upon arriving to his appointments, all three women were subjected to sexual advances and assault of varying severity by Watson.
A third lawsuit filed against Deshaun Watson accuses him of sexually assaulting a massage therapist in December 2020. This is the third civil case filed against him this week.

“Watson’s behavior is part of a disturbing pattern of preying on vulnerable women,” reads two of the plaintiffs’ lawsuits, both of which were filed by Houston-area attorney Anthony Buzbee.
In response to these lawsuits, Watson has claimed innocence, calling Buzbee an “attention-seeking lawyer.”
“I have never treated any woman with anything other than the utmost respect,” he said. “The plaintiff’s lawyer claims that this isn’t about money, but before filing suit he made a baseless six-figure settlement demand, which I quickly rejected. Unlike him, this isn’t about money for me — it’s about clearing my name, and I look forward to doing that.”
Whether these court cases find yield conclusive rulings against Watson or not, he may still be subjected to suspension from play for violating the league’s personal conduct policies.
