Major shows like Westworld have been dropped.

Warner Bros. Discovery is gradually becoming a controversial figure in the streaming entertainment scene due to its treatment of HBO Max. Following the major scrubbing of its animation sector and the cancellation of in-progress films like Batgirl, WBD has drawn further ire by announcing a fresh round of show removals.

More shows are being completely scrubbed from HBO Max’s catalog, including major fan-favorites like Westworld, along with The Nevers, Raised by Wolves, FBoy Island, Legendary, Finding Magic Mike, Head of the Class and The Time Traveler’s Wife. In lieu of running these shows on their own platform, WBD announced that they would be securing individual deals for each to lease them out to third-party streaming platforms.

“We are incredibly proud of Westworld and the remarkable work of our cast and crew,” series creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy said in a statement. “We are excited to have the opportunity to welcome a whole new audience to our show.”

While the shows directly owned by WBD like Westworld have a decent chance of securing a new home for themselves with minimal trouble, other shows owned by third-party studios may have a more difficult time. These shows include Gordita Chronicles, Love Life, Made for Love, The Garcias, and Minx. While WBD has said that each of these shows’ respective studios are seeking similar deals to have them listed on other streaming platforms, their actual status remains up in the air.
